Several essential oils can be used to reduce bruising. Fennel and lavender are effective if applied to the area as soon as possible after the bruising has occured, preferably in an ice cold compress. Lavender can also be used later to reduce any pain.
Another alternative is Arnica gel which is an excellent anti bruising agent and should be in every natural first aid kit. Our Arnica gel is also paraben free.
In the latter stages of a bruise when the colour turns green or yellowish, massaging with Rosemary will help disperse the bruising by increasing the circualtion, which will help to drain away the blood released in the bruising.
In the case of severe bruising Chamomile, Black pepper and Lavender essential oils are helpful.
