The best time to treat stretch marks is before they happen.  Stretch marks are a form of scarring, due to the stretching of the skin during pregnancy.  Once stretch marks have formed they are very difficult to eradicate, though daily massage can help reduce them.

From the 4th or 5th month of pregnancy, expectant mothers should massage daily their hip and tummy area to incease the elasticity of the skin.   A good oil to use is Rosehip oil which contains 30-40% linoleic acid which is beneficial to the skin. Alternatively Wheatgerm oil as this is rich in vitamin E or a blend of them both is ideal.
