Steam inhalation using Essential oils.

essential oil peppermintA great way to use essential oils to treat respiratory problems is by using steam inhalation. Steam inhalation is useful  when suffering from a blocked nose, sinuses or congestions during these on coming cold winter months. 

Firstly, boil water in your kettle then using a bowl or sink fill it with boiling water, add a couple of drops of Eucalyptus, Peppermint, Lavender or Tea tree essential oils and cover your head with a towel ensuring the towel surrounds the sink or bowl entirely to help seal the vapours.

Essential oil eucalyptusPeppermint and Eucalyptus essential oils have strong menthol qualities which will allow the vapours to help clear the blocked nose and sinuses where as the Tea tree and Lavender oils have healing antiseptic benefits.
