Tea tree essential oil uses and recipes

Hair and head
Add a few drops of Tea tree essential oil to your regular shampoo to treat hair problems like persistent dandruff, itchy-scalp and even prevent head-lice. Massage it in, leave it on for 5-7 minutes and rinse off.

Bad Breath
Add 2 drps Eucalyptus essential oil with 2 drps of tea tree oil to warm water and gargle.

Colds and coughs
Add a few drops in a steam bath or vaporizer and inhale, a great relief for persistent colds and cough. Regular use of tea tree oil has been found to be effective in treating Asthma, bronchitis, catarrh, cough, sinusitis and even tuberculosis.

Cuts & Grazes
Mix together 4 drops of tea tree essential oil in 300ml of warm water and use this to clean the cut. Then apply the tea tree essential neat to the cut

General Pure Tea Tree Oil Spray
Combine 2 teaspoons of tea tree oil in 2 cups of water in pour into a spray bottle. Shake to blend. Spray areas that need antiseptic attention, such as after someone has being sick.

Tea Tree Oil Hand or Foot Soak
1/2 cup warm cider vinegar
6 drops of tea tree oil
Mix the above in a basin filled with warm water. The water should be wrist or ankle deep. Soak your hand or foot for fifteen to twenty minutes.

Fungal Nail Lotion
4 teaspoons cider vinegar
30 ml of distilled water or boiled water
10 drops lavender oil
6 drops of tea tree oil

Pour vinegar into a dark glass bottle. Add the essential oils and shake well. Then add the water and shake again. Swab affected areas with cotton 3 times daily. Shake well prior to application for each use to disperse the oils.

Athlete's Foot
Mix together in a warm foot bath 10 drops of tea tree essential oil and soak your feet for 15 to 30 minutes. Continue to do this daily until the condition improves.

Anti-Fungal Foot Massage
Mix together 2 drops of geranium oil and 3 drops of tea tree essential oil in 30ml of Grapeseed base oil

Tea Tree Oil Vaginal Ointment
6 drops of tea tree oil
1 tablespoon aloe vera gel

Add drops of tea tree oil to aloe and mix together. Apply gel directly on the vaginal area to relieve itching. An alternative application would be to coat a tampon with the gel and insert vaginally. Note: Vitamin E or Cocoa butter can be used as a substitute for the aloe gel.
