Marjoram oil is distilled from the leaves and flowering tops of the plant.
It has a warm and spicy aroma, but the spanish Marjoram is considered more camphoraceous and medicinal in smell compared to the sweet marjoram, which has a hint of nutmeg smell to it.
Some traditional uses: to relax tense muscles and relieve spasms, calm and promote restful sleep, ease migraine headache, for comforting the heart, lowering high blood pressure, to help breathing, disinfecting.
Emotional profile: for hysteria, anger, feelings of isolation.
Blends with: lavender, eucalyptus, tea- tree, cedarwood, cypress, chamomile, bergamot, and rosemary.
Pure Marjoram Essential Oil has a spicy, peppery, camphor-and-thyme smell and is relaxing soothing, warming and fortifying.
In aromatherapy it is useful for headaches, insomnia, tension, bruises, aches, pains, sprains chilblains, lumbago, bronchitis, coughs and colds.
USES :Massage, baths, inhalation.
A few drops in a hot bath boost the circulation and lift the spirits, as well as soothing any aches or muscular pains.
For massage, Marjoram essential Oil is particularly good for a stiff neck, headache, migraine, aching joints, muscular pain or after excessive exercise. Inhale it with steam to relieve a chesty cough or congestion.
CAUTION:Marjoram essential Oil is perfectly safe for home use as long as it is well diluted before application. Do not use it during pregnancy.
